The drink is made from a blend of lemon juice, natural citrus botanicals, cane sugar and spring water, as well as natural quinine.
It follows the launch of
Fever-Tree premium tonic water at the start of the year, which is claimed to be the only totally natural Indian tonic water on the market and is to be used as a mixer for making high quality drinks and cocktails.
Managing director Charles Rolls said that the product was similar to an old-fashioned lemonade which could be mixed with the best white spirits.
The drink was also a good adult soft drink. “Like tonic water, all bitter lemon offerings are synthetic, highly coloured, artificially sweetened drinks that taste awful,” he said. “Fever-Tree looks and tastes distinctly different.”
The drink is available in Waitrose stores, with an rsp of 79p for a 200ml glass bottle and £2.99 for a four-pack.
