Upmarket London grocer Fortnum & Mason has laid down the gauntlet to rivals with its latest range of fine dining items for Christmas.
Top of the pile is a £1,000 Windsor Hamper, presented in the customary wicker basket which includes a magnum of Louis Roederer Brut Réserve Champagne, a 1.8kg Christmas pudding in a ceramic basin, a 100g tin of Beluga Caviar and a 3.5kg Half Gloucester Old Spot Ham.
At the other end of the scale is the £37.50 Taste of Fortnum’s Hamper filled with miniature versions of products. Also in a wicker basket, it features preserves, crackers, classic teas and a 113g Christmas pudding.
