Red Bull is to give its sugar-free variant a boost by featuring it in TV ads for the first time in the new year.

The campaign for Red Bull Sugarfree will kick off with a £1m ad investment in January. The ads are updated versions of its classic Grand Masters and Rally ads, in which cartoon characters are 'given wings'.

Meanwhile, the brand pulled its Christmas ad drive in Italy after complaints the nativity scene was disrespectful to Christianity.
