The Seafood Company is considering downsizing the workforce at its Marsden Road factory in Grimsby in response to inflationary pressures and the challenging economic environment.

The company, which is part of the Findus Group and a leading supplier of fresh own-label fish to the multiples, said it had entered into a 30-day consultation period with 45 of the 360 permanent staff at the plant, with a view to cutting 14 jobs.

The move comes after The Seafood Company announced in June that it was considering closing its Midgleys factory in Hull.
