Salad maker Florette is eyeing the salad bowl market as a key growth area off the back of strong sales this summer.

Florette achieved £710,000 in sales for its Garden Salad Bowl between its 1 February launch and 2 October, while the total salad bowl market increased 8% to £40.8m in the year to 2 October [Nielsen]. The bagged salad sector, which is worth £429.5m, grew just 3%.

Consumers were looking for convenience, said Florette commercial director Sandy Sewell. "They want a prepared product ready to go straight to the table, picnic or desk."
