Ginsters has expanded its food-to-go offering with the launch of two new flavoured rolls.
The Large BBQ Pulled Pork Roll and Large Smokehouse Steak & Cheese Roll, both made with British meat, will be available from 5 April in a number of retailers including Asda, Morrisons and Co-op.
The Steak & Cheese line will feature sausagemeat, diced steak, West Country vintage Cheddar, onion and smoky BBQ seasoning. The BBQ Pulled Pork will include pulled pork and sausagemeat with BBQ sauce and onions.
It follows the news that Ginsters saw £5.7m wiped off its value last year, despite maintaining its position as the UK’s no 1 savoury pastry brand [Nielsen 52 w/e 31 December 2016].
Ginsters hopes the NPD will “add depth and strength” to its food-to-go lineup, a category predicted to grow by £21.7bn by 2021 [IGD Food to Go Market 2016]. The launch will be supported by PoS material and price-marked packs (rsp: £1.80/130g).
“Research with consumers confirmed that these two new flavours have extremely high levels of appeal,” said Kate Brown, Ginsters brand manager. “Retailers should stock up to take advantage of the incremental sales.”
