It has been making fine conserves for more than 125 years, but Wilkin & Sons broke new ground with its ice cream range.
The firm, based in Tiptree, Essex, picked its Little Scarlet Strawberry Conserve, Tawny Orange Marmalade and Lemon Curd as the first three ice cream flavours, swirling the conserves through luxurious dairy ice cream.
Sold in selected Waitrose stores in East Anglia and independent food shops, the 500ml cartons feature photos of the Tiptree fruit on their labels. The ice cream, free from artificial colour, preservatives and additives, has an rsp of £4.99.
