While the bulk of yoghurt is made with cows milk, consumer interest in healthier alternatives has prompted an increase in the availability of goats milk yoghurt.

Delamere goats yoghurts have seen continued growth over the past couple of years, thanks to innovation and new consumers, says Ed Salt, commercial director, Delamere Dairy.

"Both goats and organic yoghurts tend to sit in the higher price brand but goats yoghurt consumers have a reason for purchase, often health-based, and have therefore continued to shop the category throughout the recession," he says.
