The multitude of ongoing sporting activities has failed to kickstart demand on the bacon markets this week.
Both the Dutch and the Danes are struggling with high prices for raw material at the moment, with supplies for some quite tight.
Danish traders seemed to be in a better position, describing some areas as buoyant and with prices likely to rise. In the Dutch camp, however, things were bleaker with demand low in both retail and foodservice and high costs squeezing margins.
