Fresh produce is set to become the latest battlefield for community retailers hoping to harness consumer spend.
While Londis has opted for a prepacked fruit and vegetable offer, supported by multibuy and quantity-based deals, Spar wholesaler AF Blakemore & Son is offering a new quality-driven Get Fresh promotion.
Selected prepacks will contain scratch cards, giving customers the chance to win a variety of prizes such as money-off vouchers and Ford Kas.
David Morris, Blakemore fresh produce trading controller, said: “This promotion will remind customers of the quality of our fresh produce, in particular the range of prepacked items, which are ideal for the modern day convenience customer.”
