Pre-tax profits nearly doubled at forecourt operator Snax 24 last year - soaring 94% to £1.063m in the year to 30 September, although sales dipped 0.5% to £233.3m.

The company, which became the UK’s biggest indie forecourt operator last year when Rontec Investments acquired Total UK’s retail network, said it was seeking opportunities to expand.

“The external commercial environment is expected to remain competitive,” the directors added in the accounts.
