Interfel, the professional body for French fruit and veg, has launched a three-year push for French apples in the UK.

As part of the 1.2m campaign, it will support retailers with in-store activity for its umbrella Le Crunch apple brand and will launch a new website in the new year giving information about varieties and updates on the harvest.

UK volume sales of French apples grew 7.3%, to 107,363 tonnes in the year to 18 April [Kantar]. Apples included under Le Crunch are Golden Delicious, Gala, Granny Smith, Braeburn and Reds.
