Female drinkers are being targeted in the UK launch of a lower-alcohol version of A Le Coq Rosé Estonian beer.

Fresh Trade UK had tested the rosé beer at 4% abv earlier this year, but has now brought it down to 2.9% following feedback from female consumers.

"Brands such as Beck's Vier have taken the beer market lower in strength but our feedback from consumers was that 4% was still a bit too strong," said director Maurice Newton.

No listings for the beer had yet been confirmed with multiples, he said.
