Italian wine producer Cavit has released a 2006 vintage for its Novello brand, which it believes offers the UK market a perfect example of a fresh and young style of wine from the region.

Terrazze della Luna IGT Novello, made using Teroldego grapes, was created with a slow but constant ripening process, resulting in a lower pH level and higher acidity.

"Novello is often considered as a moderate quality wine because of its youth," said Cavit's Claudio Gambarotto. "But with careful selection of the grapes, and refined winemaking techniques, it can be special."

The wine will be priced between £5 and £6 a bottle.
