After launching an adult snacking range for Tesco earlier this year, Adams Foods wants to expand its presence in cheese snacks - possibly through a new brand.

Adams is seeking to register the trademark “Cheese Raiders” and “Pilgrims Choice Cheese Raiders” with the Intellectual Property Office, and marketing director Alastair Jackson said Cheese Raiders may become an extension of an existing brand, with its Mu brand another possibility.

Cheese snacks were increasingly important to Adams, especially now its new innovation centre was up and running.

Any new cheese snacking venture would launch in 2014 rather than 2013, he added.
