Chobani is extending its range of fat-free strained yoghurts into big pots in a bid to promote its use as a cooking ingredient.

A 454g pot of plain yoghurt (rsp: £2) hits Tesco on 22 April adding to the brand’s five-strong UK range of single-serve fruit yoghurts.

Interest in cooking with yoghurt was growing, said chief communications officer Nicki Briggs: “We’re committed to bringing British consumers more choice.”

Chobani removed all references to ‘Greek’ from its yoghurts in December after Total Greek Yoghurt maker Fage filed a lawsuit against it. Last week, the High Court issued a permanent injunction against Chobani prohibiting use of the word. Chobani plans to appeal.
