The Dairymen Cheeseboard

Nominate your favourite Continetal cheese for The Dairymen Cheeseboard

Attention cheesemakers and cheese fans!

The Grocer is looking for outstanding gems from the world of Continental cheese for an exciting feature in our upcoming Dairymen supplement. We’ll be profiling 10 great Continental cheeses and the stories behind them in the supplement (out 7 September) – and we want you to get involved!

What kinds of cheeses are we looking for?

Cheeses made in Continental Europe with a great story to tell. Whether it’s new, innovative cheeses with a strong regional link or new takes on old favourites, we want to hear about the crème de la crème of Continental cheeses – the cheeses that need to be on every cheese lover’s and supermarket cheese buyer’s list. Importantly, we’re interested in lesser known Continental cheese gems – if your cheese is already widely listed in supermarkets across the country, it’s probably not the right fit for us on this occasion. And we’re focusing on cheeses made outside the UK this year, so please no nominations for UK-made brie etc.

How can I nominate my cheese?

Drop us a brief summary of the history of your cheese and its cheesemakers, how it fits into your region or local cheesemaking tradition, and why it deserves to be put on the map by us. Please also include details of where your cheese is currently sold. If you’re nominating a cheese you’re not producing yourself, please give us as much information as possible about why you’re nominating this particular cheese.

Please send responses by 10 August to julia.glotz@thegrocer.co.uk

If you’re planning to send us samples, please check with Julia first to ensure someone is in the office to collect them!
