Salad brand Steve’s Leaves is to benefit from an extended supply of outdoor grown British pea shoots after grower Dr Steve Rothwell harvested his earliest ever crop.

Steve’s Leaves – owned by Vitacress – sources pea shoots for its pea shoots & baby leaves salad bag product from Portugal in the winter and Britain during the summer.

The first crop of the year at Rothwell’s farm in Pewsey, Wiltshire, has already been harvested, ahead of the usual harvest date of late April, thanks to recent mild weather.

“The recent warm weather means we can supply our customers with British pea shoots right through to the autumn,” said Rothwell.

Steve’s Leaves are available in Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose stores as well as Ocado.
