Britvic has reported a major hike in third-quarter sales, with the acquisition of Fruité boosting its overseas business.

Group sales at the maker of Robinsons were up 16.2% on the same period last year to £289.5m, with Britvic France contributing £23.2m in June alone.

Britvic acquired the French soft drinks business in May for £202m in a bid to boost its presence in continental Europe.

Volumes in the company’s UK carbonates arm rose 13.8% for the quarter, with the Pepsi Dream Team campaign a driver of growth.

Chief executive Paul Moody was confident the company would meet its previous predictions about performance.

“We continue to remain cautious about consumer sentiment in our trading territories but as a result of our strong performance in the quarter and the year to date, the board remains confident of meeting current market expectations for the full 2010 financial year,” he said.
