Irish fruit and vegetables distributor Fyffes said that full-year sales were boosted by its the acquisitions of Interfrucht in Germany and Hortim in the Czech Republic.

The group’s turnover was up 5% to 1.92bn euros while pre-tax profit also rose 5% to 71.8m euros for the year to December 31.

Chairman Carl McCann said that the group had recently agreed to dispose of a number of its property investments which will realise profits in the order of 14m euros in 2004.
