Californian winemaker Gallo is targeting the independent trade with a promotional programme for its Garnet Point brand. Special cases have been designed specifically for cash and carries for two wines in the range, the Zinfandel/Barbera and the Chardonnay/Chenin. These contain a point of sale kit and contact details for retailers who want additional support. The cases are designed to create visual impact in c&cs and prompt promotional activity instore. The winemaker is keen to build on the sales growth of the brand. Senior marketing manager Ian Jones said: "Sales this year have already shown growth of 153% on last year. "It is backed by above and below the line support and has established itself as a leading brand in less than two years."
