She will oversee all marketing activity for Walkers’ core crisps brand and will report directly to Neil Campbell, vice president of marketing for PepsiCo UK. She will drive the ongoing TV campaign for Walkers’ Great British Take Away crisp lines as the company launches new variations starring brand ambassador Gary Lineker.
Garbutt joined Walkers from Unilever in 1995 as brand manager for crisps and was involved in the early Lineker ads. She became senior brand manager for Doritos in 1997. In 1998 she was seconded to PepsiCo Food International Asia Pacific as marketing director for snack foods.
Garbutt returned to the UK in 2002, becoming marketing director for media and NPD at Walkers. While there she was responsible for shifting Walkers’ business from media planners Media Vest to OMD.
