GeoActive comes in two varieties, Mango and Cashew & Pineapple, with an rsp of 75p for a 40g bar. GeoActive has been developed in conjunction with FM Foods and with an on-pack ‘the energy to make a difference’ strapline, the bars tie in with many of Traidcraft’s fundraising projects, including the London Marathon.
Made with sugar from Malawi, mangoes from Burkina Faso, cashews from India and pineapples from Uganda, the bars are also accredited by the Fairtrade Foundation. Product manager Jenny File said they filled a gap in the market. “There was nothing in between the big power bars and small snack bars. This plugs the gap and offers a quality product for people with an active lifestyle.”
The bars will roll out to stores in time for Fairtrade Fortnight (March 1-13).
