Gillian McKeith will be among those celebrating the FSA's decision this week not to ban the sale of goji berries in the UK.

McKeith has long been a supporter of the Chinese berries, which are renowned for their health benefits and high levels of antioxidants.

The FSA has spent months churning through evidence submitted by the public to determine that gojis are not a novel food.

It concluded they were eaten in sufficient quantity before 1997, so the berries escape EU novel food rules and a temporary ban.
