A national press campaign for Guinness Extra Cold has been voted the best ad of the year, in the Gramia 2000 awards, organised by The Grocer. The ad, created by AMV.BBDO, beat off stiff competition to win the much coveted accolade. It was also named the year's best press ad ­ and scooped the prize for the year's best poster campaign. The awards were due to be presented at a glittering Hollywood awards dinner in London on Thursday night, where Guinness also triumphed in the multimedia and direct marketing categories. The other brands to win categories were Imperial Drinks Co for Raw Spirit Vodka; Bud Ice; Absolut Vodka; Solstis; Bonjela; Kit Kat; Oxo and Walkers Nonsuch Everton Toffee. Sainsbury won the award for best new media campaign by a retailer and best broadcast ad, while Waitrose won the category for best retailer print ad. Pret a Manger and Park Human Resources were the winners in the recruitment section. Roy Boss, president and chief operating officer (Europe), Brann Worldwide, chaired the judging panel. {{NEWS }}
