La Trappe, a Dutch range of Trappist beers, has increased its exposure in Waitrose and found new listings in Tesco and Thresher.
Originally only one of the four-strong range of different strength ales and a wheat beer - which have been brewed by monks since 1884 - was stocked in Waitrose.
Distributor Bavaria UK said the range was designed to increase the number of consumers who were choosing beers that were based on heritage and quality.
Sales director Mike Teague said the La Trappe beers had distinctive tastes. “They are designed to be savoured and the five varieties ensure there is a brew to suit all tastes,” added Teague.
