Halewood International is setting its sights on the Spanish branded wine market with a new launch in February.
Solaz will be introduced with a £120,000 advertising and sampling push in a bid to make it the biggest Spanish wine brand by 2005.
The £4.99 wine is the result of a joint venture between Halewood's wine division and Osborne, the Spanish port and sherry producer.
Halewood has also doubled its investment in the Romanian brand Prahova Valley to £300,000 for 2003. Support for the wine, which is listed by Sainsbury, will include a summer press campaign.
