Blandy's is introducing 1995 Harvest Malmsey, a younger Madeira designed to raise the profile of of the fortified wine. The company has created a modern style of the wine so consumers can try a quality Madeira earlier than usual. It has been aged in casks for five years, unlike vintage Madeira which must age for 20 years in wood and a further two in bottle. The Harvest style was launched last year with the 1994 vintage and spokesman Richard Blandy said: "Our research shows this new style of Madeira is attracting a wide audience."
