Almost one in four Brits have confessed to eating entire chocolate sharing bags alone in one sitting.

Exclusive research conducted for The Grocer by Harris Interactive has revealed 22.1% of consumers do not share ‘sharing packs’ of confectionery and eat them in one sitting – a figure that soars to 35.7% for 16 to 24-year-olds.

Meanwhile, Kantar Worldpanel has found that 25% of chocolate pouches, including sharing packs, are consumed by one person, up from 19% a year ago.

Both sets of research were carried out exclusively for the first of The Grocer’s new series of digital-only category reports, which went live on this week.
