Free-from business Primal Joy Foods has secured its first major listing following a ‘significant’ cash injection from the local council.
The company’s better-for-you portfolio, which comprises snack bars, paleo balls, brownies and granola, is being rolled into Whole Foods Market now.
The new listing for the brand, which was launched into local health food stores and online a year ago, was a “huge step forward” for the Gloucestershire-based business, said company founder Sarah Mace.
An almost £3,000 investment from Stroud District Council through its Food Grants scheme had allowed Primal Joy Foods to “move out of my kitchen and into a small business unit”, buy bigger equipment and take on an additional member of staff, she said.
“Without investment, we couldn’t have taken on the larger orders or grown the business in the way we have,” she added.
