The world's largest bottle of single malt whisky is being released by the Moët-Hennessey owned Ardbeg distillery.

Only 250 of the giant 4.5-litre bottles, which are filled with 10-year-old Ardbeg, are available. The bottles are more than half a metre tall and equate to six standard size bottles. The bottling, called Ardbeg Mór, also comes in at a hefty 57.5% abv.

"Mór is a big dram in every way," said Ardbeg distillery manager, Michael Heads. "It is full of taste and complexity and I am sure fans will come together in numbers to savour this unusual release."

Ardbeg Mór will retail for about £350.
