The Scottish Grocers' Federation's Healthy Living Programme:

Launched in 2004, it was designed to raise consumption of fresh produce, particularly in deprived areas, by helping c-stores promote their fruit and veg

Originally trialled in six stores, the initiative has since been extended to more than 500 outlets, including Botterills Convenience Stores, David Sands, CJ Lang and Scotmid

Healthy Living is backed by annual funding worth £200,000 from the Scottish government, mostly spent on giving retailers free branded point-of-sale units

Stores provided with information on how best to present and store produce

Sales of fresh produce have increased with a number of stores successfully introducing fresh produce for the first time
