A German company is in negotiations to get its de-alcoholised sparkling wine listed in the multiples in time for Christmas.

Söhnlein Brillant sparkling wines, in white and rosé, have an abv cut to 0.5% by vacuum distillation. This preserved the flavour of the grape, said brand owner Henkell & Co. They are currently listed at Whole Foods Market.

"When it comes to a special occasion, the non-alcohol alternative for a toast is often just a glass of juice. A glass of de-alcoholised sparkling wine is more stylish," said Arne Schlette, MD of importer Birchmere Enterprises.
