The star at Waitrose this festive season will be Heston Blumenthal’s Christmas pudding – which contains a whole orange.
The Heston from Waitrose Hidden Orange Christmas Pudding will roll out across branches in October (rsp: £13.99).
In a characteristically experimental take on a traditional item, the TV chef has inserted a whole candied orange with edible skin into the centre of the pudding.
It is the second festive product that Blumenthal is launching this Christmas under the new Heston from Waitrose brand alongside his Lapsang Souchong Smoked Salmon.
Earlier this month, Waitrose announced that it was working with the Fat Duck chef on more than 20 different products, to debut in October, including vanilla mayonnaise and ponzu salad dressing. The range will expand with further launches early next year, Waitrose confirmed.
Blumenthal was unveiled alongside TV icon Delia Smith as ‘food ambassadors’ for the upmarket supermarket in March.
