Müller pushes Omega-3
Müller Vitality is tapping into the growing popularity of Omega-3 enriched foods with the development of the first range of functional yoghurt drinks containing the essential fatty acids. Fish oils are being added to all products in the portfolio, which are already prebiotic and probiotic, in a bid to take on brand leader Actimel. A £10m marketing campaign supports the launch, including TV ads starting in January as well as sponsorship and sampling.

a Pukka move into retail
Pukka Pies is extending the popularity of its meat pies with the creation of its first products for retail. Three of the company’s biggest sellers - steak & kidney, chicken & mushroom and minced beef & onion - have listings in around 44 Sainsbury stores and 40 Co-ops across the Midlands. Sales of the pies will be reviewed over a six to 12-month period and a national launch could follow.

Somerfield boosts wine range
Somerfield is launching a premium wine selection as part of its most extensive range review in a decade. The collection will consist of 26 wines, priced between £7 and £20, on sale in Somerfield’s best-performing 130 stores. The retailer will also introduce a more classic Fine Wines range to its top 10 or 20 stores next year.
