The campaign's main website, English-language fishfight.net, will be expanded by 11 'microsites' offering information in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Greek, Dutch, Flemish and Portuguese. Larger campaigns in four "target countries" Germany, France, Spain and Poland are also planned for later this year.
Fearnley-Whittingstall said he was "delighted" with the public support his UK campaign had attracted, but added that it was vital to garner support from other European countries "to ensure the shameful practice of discarding perfectly good fish is ended".
Hugh's Fish Fight aired on Channel 4 in January. A follow-up programme, titled Fish Fight 2, is planned for later in 2011.
