The British Potato Council has come up with a fun way to promote the humble spud  mash wrestling. Apparently it's very big in the US and the BPC has brought it over here to mark the start of the autumn season for home grown potatoes in its Dig Potatoes' campaign. Nice idea. Pity, then, that the first ever bout at the Hoop and Grapes pub in London's Farringdon Street involved  yup, you guessed it  two very scantily dressed women doing their thang (or should that be thong?) in a ring filled with moist mash. Whatever next? Naked females wrestling in mud to promote sales of drinking chocolate? Brand managers: when planning new marketing campaigns please remember we are now in the 21st century. Thank you. {{COUNTERPOINT }}
