Adams Foods has appointed IAWS Foods UK managing director Ian Toal as its new CEO.
Toal is to join later this summer and replaces MD Carl Ravenhall who left earlier this year to take up a senior executive position with dairy co-op Milk Link.
Since joining IAWS Foods’ parent group Aryzta three years ago, Toal has also held MD roles with Delice de France and Cuisine de France. He was also British sales director for Country Choice Foods.
As CEO of Adams Foods, he will be responsible for 700 staff, brands including Kerrygold and Pilgrims Choice and cheese pre-packaging bases in Staffordshire and Somerset.
Adams Foods, part of the Irish Dairy Board Group, was created last October following a merger between The Kerrygold Company and North Downs Dairy. Since Ravenhall’s departure, Joe O’Flynn, MD for IDB’s consumer division, has been interim MD.
“I would like to welcome Ian to the IDB Group and to this role at what is an exciting time in the development of both our industry and our organisation,” said IDB CEO Kevin Lane.
“Adams Foods has an excellent team, strong brands and operates state-of-the art facilities. The British market is our largest export market and is central to our growth plans.
“Ian will bring a wide range of experience and has the ambition, energy and skills to maximise the development of the business. We look forward to working with Ian and are delighted that he has decided to join us.”
