Iceland will support Walking with the Wounded for this year’s annual charity week.
The charity, which funds programmes to re-train wounded former service personnel, joins Alzheimer’s Research UK as Iceland’s official charity.
‘Iceland’s Charity Week each year is something very special, as our 23,000 colleagues show amazing enthusiasm, creativity and commitment in their drive to raise money for our chosen charities,” said Iceland chief executive Malcolm Walker.
“They compete with each other to see who can come up with the most original and daunting challenges,” added Walker, who will lead an expedition to the South Pole later this year.
Edward Parker, co-founder of Walking with the Wounded, said the partnership would “help to raise awareness of what we do and demonstrate our work of re-skilling our wounded to a new audience”.
