Fairtrade nut company Liberation Foods has appointed Ilaria Ida as head of marketing and communications.
Ida will take responsibility for brand strategy and marketing at Liberation Foods, which makes a range of Fairtrade nuts sold in Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Oxfam, as well as own label for Tesco, Morrisons and The Co-op. Ida previously worked as a brand manager for Yardley when it was part of Procter & Gamble. She has also worked for CARE International UK and on communications projects at Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International.
She joins a team of 12 at Liberation, which is a sister company to Fairtrade companies Cafédirect, Divine chocolate and Fairtrade fruit specialists Agrofair UK.
"The fact producers have a real say in how the company is run, was a real incentive for joining," Ida added.
