Chile Gala hit by rain 
Exports of Chilean Royal Gala to Europe have been hit by rain in March, which impacted on the size and colouring of fruit harvested, the Chilean Fresh Fruit Association reported. Exports will be down 10% this year to 265,000 tonnes. 

Fighting for share 
The UK's 200 largest fresh produce companies now control 91% of the market and are "fighting each other headlong for market share", according to a report from Plimsoll Publishing. This figure is up from 87% two years ago. 

Aircraft success 
Capespan has reported strong demand for its individually sleeved Cape fresh pineapple sticks, launched on the BA long-haul menu in March.
