Developing brands 

Former Masterfoods trading director Barry Smethurst has joined field sales company Logobrands as business development director. Smethurst has held a number of senior roles in the industry, including head of sales for Jordans Cereals and managing director of the Organic and Natural Food Co. 

Drinks for Wilson 

Former InBev UK commercial manager Darren Wilson has been appointed as sales manager at soft drinks manufacturer Sangs. He is the first senior appointment to be made by Andy Anderson and Kenny Webster, the team behind the £10m takeover of Sangs in July this year. In his role, Wilson will responsible for sourcing and securing new distribution channels. 

Glendale gets Doyle 

Karen Doyle has become the sales development manager for Glendale Foods. She joins the frozen snack company from Qualifry where she was national accounts controller and will be tasked with co-ordinating Glendale's sales team and exploring different business opportunities. 

Nash new chairman 

Andy Nash has been made chairman of drinks supplier Intercontinental Brands. Nash has previously held director-level roles at Taunton Cider, Merrydown and Matthew Clarke and is also the chairman of Somerset County Cricket Club. 

Hershey resignations 

Hershey Trust, the charitable trust that controls a 78% stake in US confectionery giant Hershey, has forced six independent directors to resign in a bid to improve the company's performance. Two more directors have since resigned and the trust has elected eight new directors. Kenneth Wolfe is among the new appointments and will become non-executive chairman on 1 January.
