The UK can continue to sell milk and beer in pints and fruit and veg in pounds and ounces following a u-turn in Brussels. Imperial units were to be scrapped in 2009 but the current practice of listing goods in both metric and imperial is to continue indefinitely.
More bread rises
ABF has warned its full-year grocery profit will be lower than last year because of losses at Allied Bakeries. It said further bread hikes were needed to recover "sharp increases in the cost of flour".
