Irish dairy grant

The Irish government has unveiled a package of 1100m to support the dairy industry, which is expected to spur some 1300m of investment across the sector.

'Not too goaty'

Supreme champion at this year's Nantwich show was a Dutch cheese called Grand Cru made by Bettine. It is described as a ten-month old mature goat's cheese from the south of the country, but importer Bradbury & Sons said it was not "too goaty".

Organic milk hike

Milk Link has raised the farm gate price of organic milk by 1.75ppl, bringing the premium over conventional milk to 10ppl. It was a reflection of soaring organic demand, the co-op said.
