Lonely war on crime

Shopkeepers feel they are isolated in their fight against criminals, claiming law enforcers are abandoning their shops to the crooks, according to preliminary findings from the BRC's annual Retail Crime Survey, to be published in full on 11 October.

Tyrrells not in Tesco

Tesco has agreed to stop selling Tyrrells crisps after the brand owner accused the retailer of doing so without its permission. It is believed Tesco had been buying them from wholesalers.

The average Briton eats more than 900 cooked breakfasts in a lifetime, according to research by Danish Bacon. The survey of 3,000 people found that 53% had a cooked breakfast once a month on average.
