Milk hits Glanbia

Rising milk prices have hit profits at Glanbia Cheese and its consumer products division.Turnover in the six months to 30 June at the division fell 1.3% to £169m, but group sales rose 13% to £705m.

Overall milk consumption has not fallen by 3%, as claimed in the Consumer Insight column (18 August, p61). It has risen - it is only drinking milk consumption that has fallen.
