Dairy processors are braced for a surge in skimmed milk sales in January, as bloated revellers try to shed the pounds. Sales are predicted to rise 15%, according to market analyst IRI.
A tragic plight
Tory leader David Cameron has promised that a future Conservative government would boost the labelling and marketing of products. He said the dairy farmer's plight was tragic and it was the duty of competition authorities' to deal with pricing concerns.
Uniq dairy deal
Dairy Crest has entered an agreement to purchase Uniq's spreads business, St Hubert, after sign-off from workers. It will seek shareholder approval next month.
