Lager grows 13%
SABMiller has posted its third-quarter results, noting an "impressive performance in Europe". Lager volumes in the region grew organically by 13% in the period to 31 December 2006, influenced by a mild winter.
Gateshead to shut
Scottish & Newcastle is closing its Gateshead bottling plant following a decision to scrap returnable Newcastle Brown Ale bottles because it is no longer green to do so.
