Pernod Ricard is to put new warning labels, cautioning pregnant women about the dangers of drinking alcohol, on all its brands across Europe.

Lager grows 13%

SABMiller has posted its third-quarter results, noting an "impressive performance in Europe". Lager volumes in the region grew organically by 13% in the period to 31 December 2006, influenced by a mild winter.

Gateshead to shut

Scottish & Newcastle is closing its Gateshead bottling plant following a decision to scrap returnable Newcastle Brown Ale bottles because it is no longer green to do so.

The Cert Drinks Network, the new drinks arm of logistics company The Cert Group, enjoyed a bumper Christmas, handling more than eight million cases of drinks in the ten weeks to December 25, 260% up on last year.
