More than 70% of meat eaters want to eat lamb more often for Sunday lunch, and 93% have not been put off meat by media coverage of FMD, according to an online survey of 2,000 meat eaters for HCC Meat Promotion Wales.
Quality sales drive
Sales of Scotch lamb increased 26% during the first three months of a major £500,000 campaign coordinated by Quality Meat Scotland between August and October.
Salmon sales boost
Salmon sector consolidation has boosted sales at Europe's top 25 seafood companies by 12.3% year-on-year, according to a report from Intrafish Media. Turnover hit £9.6bn, with the top 10 companies worth 62% of that.
