Australian wine brand McWilliam's is hoping a zestier, fresher style of Chardonnay will appeal to a new fan base after a decline in popularity in the past few years. The Hanwood Estate Crisp Chardonnay is now available from Tesco, rsp £6.99.
Bubbly for travel Champagne
GH Mumm is rolling out its travel canister across the off-trade. The gift-pack, designed to protect the bubbly and keep it cold while travelling, was launched into Selfridges before Christmas but will be available in Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Thresher from 1 April at an rsp of £25.99.
Push for Jameson's
Pernod Ricard is investing £1.5m in its Jameson's Irish Whiskey. The company is targeting 25 to 34-year-old men and positioning the drink as a contemporary brand. "The advertising mixes Jameson's heritage with its credentials as accessible, versatile and mixable," said Patrick Venning, head of marketing whiskies.
